Fancy Flounce

I've noticed the flounce detail popping up here and there in the design world. You'll definitely find it in fashion, but it's showing up in interior design as well. I've mainly seen it around the edges of curtain panels.  Here are a few examples of the flounce detail.

What do you think of this pretty detail? I quite like it, although it must be used in moderation and in the right space. Too much flounce would just be... too much!

  1. I like it! I was just telling my mom about the Anthro drapes! They are quite similar to what I had in my room when I was a little girl!

  2. Ordinarily I'm drawn to clean lines, but after seeing the examples you found I have to say I quite like it too. I don't think I'd want it in my home ~ except on a throw perhaps ~ but I can totally see presenting it as an option in some clients' design plans. Very pretty!

  4. I can't lie...I'm a huge fan of the flounce! Must be the girly-girl in me. But I agree - there's 'too much'.
